FOUR ARRESTED AFTER SHOTS ARE FIRED IN JOSHUA TREE

Four Joshua Tree residents were arrested Wednesday night after deputies responded to a call for shots fired in Joshua Tree. According to a Sheriff’s report, a neighbor in the 62500 block of La Crescenta Drive called 911 just after 9:30 p.m. to report shots heard and people yelling. Deputies determined that Nichole Pederson, 31, assaulted two people with a firearm. Nichole Pederson was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000. Evidence at the scene led deputies to 63600 block of Tillford Road in Joshua Tree where they arrested Christopher Zimmerer, 33, for an outstanding warrant for a probation violation, and Anthony Smith, 50, for an outstanding warrant for possession of dangerous drugs. They were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail; Christopher Zimmerer is being held without bail; Anthony Smith’s bail is set at $75,000. Deputies also went to the 5200 block of Border Avenue where they arrested Brandon Kent, 33, for suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Brandon Kent was booked at the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000.
