In prehistoric days, mammoths, saber-toothed tigers, camels, llamas, horses, bison, and wolves could be found in, and around, the area of what is now Joshua Tree National Park. The park is partnering with the Western Science Center in Hemet to put on an exhibition featuring 30 fossils and other specimens of these animals and more from the Ice Age. The Western Science Center is located at 2345 Searl Parkway in Hemet. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Tickets are free for museum members, military, and children under 4; $6 to $8 for others. For more information, see westernsciencecenter.org.
