A former resident of Yucca Valley and her unborn child were shot and killed by her husband, a former Twentynine Palms Marine, in Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, October 8. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Kenneth Blair of Prescott was booked for the murder of his wife, 41-year-old Delissa Blair. Friends say Delissa Blair, 41, was well known and loved during the five years she lived in Yucca Valley. Delissa Blair was pregnant at the time of her death, resulting in a second count of murder involving their unborn child. The couple had met and married while Kenneth Blair was stationed at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base, before they moved to Prescott. The couple has two children, ages 5 and 11, who were home at the time and not injured. Investigators say Kenneth Blair called 9-1-1 just before 5 a.m., claiming he accidently shot his wife as they struggled over a handgun. Arriving deputies found Delissa Blair lying on the bed suffering from a gunshot wound to her head. She was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center and later pronounced dead. Kenneth Blair was detained and eventually admitted in a follow-up interview that he became upset with his wife and shot her. He was booked on two counts of second degree murder.
