Former Yucca Valley Town Manager Brad Kilger, who spent the last two years of a 40-year public service career as the city manager for Martinez, said this week he will retire at the end of December. “I have spent most of my career away from my family, and after discussing it with my wife, we decided it was time,” Kilger said in a statement. Before he was hired in Martinez in June 2016, he had served as top administrator in Benicia, Ceres and Yucca Valley, and in several other managerial positions in other California cities. Kilger made a $215,000 annual base salary, plus benefits.
