FORMER COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTY FROM YUCCA VALLEY ACCUSED OF CONTINUOUS SEXUAL ABUSE OF A CHILD

A former San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy, and resident of Yucca Valley, was arrested Friday (September 17) accused of the continuous sexual abuse of a child. According to Sheriff’s reports, deputies opened an investigation into former Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremie Cox, 50, after a male victim reported that Cox sexually abused him during the victim’s youth. On Friday (September 17) at 3:33 p.m., detectives from the Specialized Investigation Division located and arrested Cox in the 63600 block of Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree. Jeremie Cox was arrested for investigation of continuous sexual abuse of a child, oral copulation with a minor, and lewd and lascivious acts with a child. He was booked into the Central Detention Center with his bail set at $750,000. The Sheriff’s department clarified that none of the crimes committed by Cox occurred during the course of his duties as a deputy sheriff and that Cox is no longer employed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
