Volunteers for Food for Life in Twentynine Palms, after working from Luckie Park for weeks were in a comfortable, air-conditioned building after the Church of the Nazarene offered a pleasant, cozy place for their meal. They served 53 meals to low-income individuals and families at the church, with 109 meals going out to shut-ins. Diners came in and sat down and were served their meal. One young lady said, “This is like going out to a restaurant.” The conversation across the room was cheerful and light. Both volunteers and diners had a great afternoon. Next Saturday, from 3 to 5 p.m., they will be serving chipped beef with mashed potatoes, corn, salad, and fruit, again at Church of the Nazarene. The church is right across the highway from Del Taco. Drive down 49 Palms Road and into the parking lot of the church.
