With the holidays arriving, families are struggling to put food on the table, let alone a Thanksgiving turkey, but a local high school charity is passing out free food tomorrow in Twentynine Palms. Reporter Heather Clisby has details…
For nearly 20 years, the Twentynine Palms High School Interact Club has gifted local families with a full Thanksgiving meal, including the bird. In 2020, this effort is especially needed as so many struggle with health and economic issues caused by COVID-19.
The club will provide 500 area families with all the basics to celebrate Thanksgiving next week. If you are a family in need of food assistance, call Reach Out Morongo Basin at 760-361-1410 to pre-register.
The drive-through event will take place on Saturday, November 21, from noon until 1 p.m. at Twentynine Palms High School, 72750 Wildcat Way. To make a donation, contact Club Advisor Lori Cosgriff at 760-367-9591 ext 2046.
