Due to rain and flash flooding Thursday in Joshua Tree National Park, park officials have closed Pinto Basin Road and all dirt roads. The Keys’ Ranch tour today (Friday) has also been cancelled. Rangers urge visitors to use caution when driving in the park and to avoid driving through running water. Motorists should be on the look-out for debris, rocks, and standing water. Although campgrounds are still open, campers are urged to make other plans or to be prepared for winter weather conditions.
