Some residents of Flamingo Heights this week received a project notice from the county Land Use Services Department. The notice is soliciting public comment for a proposed glamping development on 640 acres along State Route 247. But the notice appears to put the cart before the horse because no one associated with the project has approached the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency for a “will-serve” letter. Reporter Mike Lipsitz picks up the story from here…
A will serve letter Is assurance that there will be water availability for a proposed development; obtaining one is an essential first step for most any project. But refusing to let facts stand in the way, the developer, robottland.com, of the mile-square property has already applied for a conditional use permit. A description in the application describes the development as “a destination resort consisting of up to 75 clustered tent camping (glamping) sites with support facilities for campers, including restaurant and bar, reception area/store, trails/paths, and recreational facilities.” The notice solicits public comment be sent to Contract Planner Jim Morrissey by April 26.
