FIREWORKS, MUSIC, AND FAMILY FUN SEPTEMBER 2 IN LANDERS

Fireworks, food, fun, and family entertainment are planned in Landers at the Morongo Basin’s only Labor Day celebration September 2 at Homestead Valley Park. Gates open at 4 p.m. Cody Joseph and the Z107.7 Mobile DJ will get things warmed up, and the U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard will open the ceremonies with the appropriate military honors at 6 p.m. The fireworks begin shortly after dark. Admission is free, but the public is encouraged to bring school supplies for Landers Elementary School. There will be a bounce house, face painting, games and Emergency Equipment on display for kids; plus, beer and margaritas for adults. The big fireworks show will be synchronized to music provided by Z107.7 community radio and is expected to be nothing short of spectacular. Proceeds will benefit Homestead Valley Park, Landers Elementary School and other area non-profits. Entry and street parking is free; VIP parking will be available for a $5 donation. Homestead Valley Park is at 1501 Belfield Boulevard in Landers. Backpacks, outside food and beverages, coolers and tailgating prohibited. Vendor spaces are still available; call 760-333-2707 for information.
