FIREFIGHTER AND CHP TOY COLLECTION

0

Morongo Basin firefighters and the California Highway Patrol will be collecting toys to distribute to needy children. Boxes where residents can drop off toys will be in local businesses, banks, and mobile home parks, including at the Z107.7 studio in Joshua Tree. In addition, Walmart will host a “stuff the truck” event at the store to collect toys for firefighters to distribute. Firefighters will be at Walmart for the next two weekends: Saturdays, 1 to 5; Sundays, noon to 5; and next Friday night, 4 to 8 p.m., through December 15 to collect monetary donations and new toys. Toys for both boys and girls up to age 17 should be valued at $20 or less. Residents can also bring new, unwrapped toys to the CHP station in Joshua Tree, or to the collection site near the Walmart Pharmacy entrance.
