FIRE AT A VACANT CABIN IN TWENTYNINE PALMS YESTERDAY

A vacant cabin in the Desert Heights area of Twentynine Palms suffered moderate damage during a fire Tuesday morning. According Fire Captain Jim Thompson, firefighters from Twentynine Palms and the Combat Center were called to a fire at 8:15 a.m. in the 69200 block of Ranier Road. Firefighters from the Lear Avenue station were the first on the scene, and found the cabin partially involved in flames. Quick work by firefighters had the blaze under control in 10 minutes. The cabin suffered moderate damage with the loss estimated at $10,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Sheriff’s arson detectives.
