This Wednesday, Ruth Nolan, author, lecturer and former wildland firefighter will present “Fire On the Mojave: Stories from the Deserts & Mountains of Inland So California.” Nolan will talk about the impacts of wildfire in our desert and mountain regions including Native American uses of fire as management. She will also tell stories from citizens who’ve survived major wildfire events and describe a close-up view of a wildland firefighter as seen from her point of view. There will be a book signing after the Q&A. Lecture begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum 57116 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. Donation is $5.
