FIRE NEAR ARROWHEAD QUICKLY CONTROLLED YESTERDAY

Firefighters stopped the forward spread of a 15-acre brush fire in the nearby San Bernardino Mountains and got it fully contained less than five hours after it started, fire officials said. The Arrowhead fire, which started about 3 p.m. Sunday, closed down Highway 18 between East 40th Street in San Bernardino and Highway 138 in the San Bernardino Mountains. The fire was contained shortly before 8 p.m.
