Late last night at about 10:45PM San Bernardino County Fire crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the area of Piñon Dr & Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley.
Three fire trucks and an ambulance arrived on scene to find an abandoned two-story home fully engulfed in flames. Crews initiated a defensive attack working to suppress the fire and keep it from spreading. The fire crew was assisted by an engine from Yucca Valley.
Despite an extremely long supply hose lay along with a large fire, the crews were successful in keeping the fire from spreading to the nearby exposures. Firefighters knocked the structure fire down in about 20 minutes.
The home, which appeared vacant and abandoned, was a total loss. No injuries to firefighters or citizens were reported. The fire remains under investigation by SBCoFD Arson Investigators.
