Twentynine Palms firefighters were called to an early morning fire today. An abandoned stone house on Yucca Avenue, just north of 29 Palms Highway, had flames and smoke coming from the front door and eaves when firefighters arrived about 2:15 a.m. Firefighters from Wonder Valley and the Combat Center assisted in knocking down the blaze, which took about 20 to 30 minutes. The cause is under investigation.
