Eyewitnesses said a fire destroyed a house in Twentynine Palms this morning (June 11). One witness said that, at about 3:37 this morning, they observed a house on Gorgonio (between Lupine & Mariposa) fully engulfed in flames. The fire was so intense it also set trees on the property completely ablaze. It is not known if the house was occupied. Neighbors said the house was abandoned, but there had been squatters seen at times. Other neighbors woke up residents next door to the burning house and helped them evacuate. County Fire Crews responded, Z107.7 will have more information as it becomes available.
