Trash at the dump in Landers caught on fire Monday afternoon. County Fire Captain Bryan Hoverman said the fire at 59200 Winters Road was reported about 5:45 p.m. and was burning trash and tires. After fighting the fire for about 1 ½ hours, firefighters from Yucca Mesa Station 42 left the fire under the supervision of San Bernardino County Refuse, which said that smoke may still be visible, but there is no threat to homes.
