A small abandoned homestead cabin caught fire in Twentynine Palms yesterday. Firefighters from the Lear Avenue fire station were called to the fire in the 72900 block of Two Mile Road at 5:42 p.m. yesterday. Engineer Jeff Rarey said the flames did not have much to burn as the cabin was mostly cinder block and metal, and firefighters were able to put out the fire in about three minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
