FINAL PUBLIC HEARING ON REDISTRICTING AT TONIGHT’S TWENTYNINE PALMS CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The Twentynine Palms City Council meets tonight, March 8, and will host the fourth and final public hearing on the city’s redistricting map. Reporter Heather Clisby has details…

The state-mandated redistricting of Twentynine Palms will be a main topic at tonight’s city council meeting as the fourth required public hearing takes place. There will be a presentation by National Demographics Corporation and a discussion on the five proposed maps. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input.

The public hearing will be followed by a discussion on expenses for a Type 2 bike path beginning at Utah Trail and ending at Sunmore Parkway. The nearly 6,000-foot bike path project was scheduled two years ago but it became delayed due to the pandemic.

The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road, and can be livestreamed or viewed on-demand via the city’s website, 29palms.org.
