The registrar of voters has released the final certified count for the November 6 election. Three results were too close to call for the past month. John Cole, running for re-election for city council in District 4 in Twentynine Palms, lost to challenger Karmolette O’Gilvie by 2 votes, 347 to 345. For Joshua Basin Water District, Mike Reynolds won over Paul Coate by 11 votes, 1,073 to 1,084. The Morongo Unified School District’s Measure O bond, which would have provided funding for school infrastructure, did not make the 55 percent it needed to pass, failing with 54.90 percent of the vote. By law, races within 2 percent of the vote can ask for a recount, but the recount must be paid for by the candidate. Z107.7 HAS NOT BEEN INFORMED OF ANY RECOUNT REQUESTS AT THIS TIME.
