A new show opens tonight (December 4) at the 29 Palms Art Gallery that features two distinct collections of fiber-based works. With details on the show, here’s News Director, Cassidy Taylor…
The first exhibition, “Shifting Stories,” is an installation of brightly colored fiber art and watercolor paintings by California artists Cindy Rinne and Rebecca Hamm. The second exhibition, called “Waves of Wabi Sabi” features a more subdued collection of Japanese-style Saori weavings, including some wearables, by Ellen Finan of Desert Hot Springs and Kat Macdonald of Indio. A third exhibition, a variety of new works by gallery members rounds out the show. An opening reception will be held tonight (December 4,) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the gallery’s outdoor patio featuring a meet and greet with the artists. The show will run until January 2 and can be viewed during normal gallery hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday through Sunday. The gallery is located at 74055 Cottonwood Drive, in Twentynine Palms.
