Get ready to rock your socks off at The Palms Wonder Valley on October 16 when female-fronted desert bands Secret Delite and the Hot Patooties premiere their unique styles of power pop punk music under the stars at this local favorite venue.
Doors open at 7 p.m. with the Hot Patooties playing at 7:30, followed by Secret Delite. Admission is $5. The Palms is located at 83131 Amboy Road in Wonder Valley and serves delicious food and drinks with a full bar. The entire event is outdoors.
Secret Delite is based in the high desert of Twentynine Palms and blends driving vocals, bass and drums with crunchy guitars, artsy saxophone and psychedelic keyboards for a unique desert sound. The band performs all-original music written by guitarist Johnny Belluzzi and bassist/vocalist Denise Tanguay, a husband-and-wife team who met in the 1990s as members of the Phoenix punk bands Our Neighbors Suck (ONS) and Burning Bush. Completing the ensemble are Joshua Tree musicians Mike Gonzales on drums, Cat Celebrezze on sax and keyboards, and Blake Baxter on guitar. The Hot Patooties, an original punk-n-roll band, inject you with high-energy catchy lyrics and goofball attitudes that will get your booty shakin.’ BB Patootie on guitar, Kim Patootie on bass, and Shonzie Patootie on drums have performed in several punk and garage bands from the Bay Area and Los Angeles, including The Loudmouths, Distillers, Original Sinners, Fuzz Attack and Krypters — to name a few. Everyone is invited to come on out and scream along!
