A Yucca Valley man was arrested Thursday after he hit his wife. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Yost, deputies were called to the 7300 block of Dumosa Avenue about 6:15 Thursday when a woman called to say he hit her in her face. Deputies found that the woman had visible injuries, and Jose Abundis, 29, was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse. Jose Abundis was taken to the Morongo Basin Jail, but the jail would not book him until an open stab wound that he had sustained a week earlier in La Puenta was treated. The deputy took Jose Abundis to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment, and after which he was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000, and for violating his probation.
