A convicted felon with numerous warrants and suspected to be in possession of a ghost gun was arrested in Yucca Valley last week.
On Thursday (November 16) at around 12:45 a.m., County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with multiple code violations near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Old Woman Springs Road in Yucca Valley.
Deputies identified the driver as Thomas Higgins, a 40 year-old resident of Yucca Valley. Deputies report that Higgins is a convicted felon who had numerous warrants out for his arrest for charges related to battery, drugs, weapons, DUI, and impersonation.
Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle, and located a 9 mm “ghost gun,” which is an unregistered firearm constructed from component parts.
Higgins has a long wrap sheet. He has been arrested in the past for suspicion of robbery, providing false information, parole violations, and arson, in addition to his current warrants.
Thomas Higgins was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and numerous warrants, and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail on $50,000 bail.
