A felon on parole was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon in Joshua Tree.
On Tuesday (February 28), a citizen reported seeing a wanted person, identified as Steve Alexander Mixco, in the 4000 block of Avenida La Candela in Joshua Tree. Mixco was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon in a previous incident occurring at the same location on January 31, and was considered to be armed and dangerous.
Deputies arrived at the location and surrounded the property. Several occupants living in trailers on the property were contacted and evacuated, and after making public announcements, three people exited the main house on the property.
One of the occupants was Mixco. Steve Alexander Mixco was arrested for investigation into assault with a deadly weapon and a no bail warrant, and was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail where he is being held without bail.
