FATHER AND SON ARRESTED IN TWENTYNINE PALMS THURSDAY

A father and son were arrested in Twentynine Palms Thursday afternoon. Deputies went to a home in the 74300 block of Chemehuevi Drive just after 2 p.m. Thursday looking for Steven Carreon, 26. Carreon is believed to be one of the suspects who fled from deputies November 16 following a traffic stop at Baseline Road and Utah Trail, which caused Palm Vista Elementary School to be locked down for several hours. Deputies contacted Carreon’s father, John Carreon, 68, who denied that his son was at home. Deputies searched the residence, found Steven Carreon, and arrested him on a warrant for vehicle theft. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with bail set at $50,000. John Carreon was arrested on suspicion of harboring a felon and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,00
