Last night (September 30) at 7:42 p.m., Morongo Basin Deputies responded to the intersection of Antelope Trail and Sage Avenue after receiving reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Deputies arrived and contacted a driver of a 2007 Toyota Scion and a pedestrian lying in the middle of the roadway, unresponsive. The pedestrian was immediately transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center. The Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) handled the scene and assumed the investigation. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
