The California Highway Patrol reports that on Sunday (December 8) just after 12:30 p.m., Cannon Pew, a 39 year-old resident of Yucca Valley, was riding a motorcycle southbound on Pioneertown Road near Shelter Cove Lane when he crossed double yellow lines to pass a vehicle.

While in the northbound lane, the CHP says that the motorcycle collided with a Jeep driven by a 57 year-old woman from Seattle. Pew was taken to the Hi-Desert Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Jeep and two passengers were not injured.

The CHP is investigating the crash, but they do not suspect drugs or alcohol as a factor.

Cannon Pew’s family announced that there will be a celebration of his life on December 14 at 11 a.m. at Joshua Springs Calvary Christian Church in Yucca Valley.
