On Friday afternoon there was a crash on the highway in Joshua Tree, with one reported fatality. About 3:30 pm, a military vehicle that was part of an eastbound convoy collided with a civilian vehicle, east of Whitefeather Road on State Route 62. Following the crash, a Humvee and a civilian vehicle were off the road on the north side of the highway. According to CHP Sergeant Dennis Green, the fatality was a white adult female. With the investigation into the crash ongoing, it was not revealed whether the victim was civilian or military.
