St. Joseph’s Church in Yucca Valley is offering a Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday feast to benefit a local charity. Reporter Rebecca Havely tells you what’s for supper…
Did you know that Mardi Gras means Fat Tuesday in French? In the Episcopal Church, the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday is also called Shrove Tuesday. It’s a tradition at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church in Yucca Valley to mark this day with a pancake supper feast, before the fasting of Lent begins. They want to invite all local families large and small of any faith to join in on the fun. Tuesday, February 17, supper is served from 5 to 7 p.m., and includes pancakes with all the fixin’s: butter, maple syrup, breakfast sausage, links plus coffee and tea. The cost is only $5 each at the door of their Parish Hall. Proceeds will benefit the Yucca Valley Community Center for Healthy Generations. St. Joseph’s of Arimathea Church is located at 56312 Onaga Trail at the corner of Church Street in Yucca Valley. For more information call 760-413-2791.
