A fire in Landers killed several pigs and goats Saturday. According to County Fire Battalion Chief Donnie Viloria, firefighters were called to a small farm near Alta Avenue and Lutz Road just after 6 p.m. for a structure fire. Viloria said four outbuildings, which served as shelters for pigs and goats, were on fire, and the animals were trapped in the buildings and pens. Viloria thought at least 5 to 7 of each animal died in the fire. No human occupants were injured and the fire was quickly contained. The cause is still under investigation.
