EXTREME GOLFERS SOUGHT FOR PIONEER PASS GOLF CHALLENGE

The Pioneer Pass golf challenge makes golf an adventure. Managing Editor Tami Roleff has more on the unusual sporting tradition…
The Pioneer Pass Golf Challenge was originally started in 1959 as an attempt to get a road from Big Bear to Yucca Valley. More than 50 years later, it’s still a dirt road, but the Pioneer Pass Golf Challenge was born. This weekend of extreme golf is September 6 and 7. Golfers start in Big Bear and golf their way down the mountain to Yucca Valley, and all for charity. The entry fee of $130 includes the Pioneer Pass Golf Challenge, golf at Mission Lakes Country Club in Desert Hot Springs, lunch, dinner, and prizes. For more information, call Debbie Crone at 760-365-3315 or Shelly Licata 760-228-3447.
