The CHP will be on maximum enforcement looking for drunk drivers over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Managing Editor Tami Roleff reminds you to Designate a Driver…
The California Highway Patrol is reminding motorists not to rely on luck when it comes to avoiding an arrest for driving under the influence this St. Patrick’s Day. Residents should plan a safe way home and designate a non-drinking driver before the festivities begin. Last St. Patrick’s Day, the CHP made more than 300 arrests statewide for DUI and at least three people were killed in California in alcohol-involved collisions. The CHP recommends residents who are celebrating this St Patrick’s Day—and every time they go out drinking–designate a non-drinking driver, call a taxi or have a sober friend or family member drive. If you see an impaired driver, call 911, and be prepared to give a description of the vehicle, license plate number, direction of travel, and location.
