Extinction Rebellion is a grassroots organization with sights set on stopping a coming mass extinction event through peaceful actions. Formed last year in Great Brittan, the first U.S. chapter organized in New York City last January; now there are more than 50 chapters in the U.S. – Joshua Tree being one of the newest. If climate crisis and ecological breakdown concern you, you’re invited to attend an Extinction Rebellion presentation this Thursday, November 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Giant Rock Meeting Room on Old Woman Springs Road across from Hero Market in Flamingo Heights. A spokesman from Extinction Rebellion Joshua Tree will discuss the scope of the issue and what to do about it. Dress warm as this is an outdoor event. More information at extinctionrebellionjt.org.
