BoxoProjects, a multi-program arts initiative based in Joshua Tree, showcases two artists Edie Fake and Aili Schmeltz, during April. Hilary Sloane will tell you the details…
BoxoProjects is presenting “Experiments in Transition,” an exhibition by two Mojave-based artists, Edie Fake and Aili Schmeltz. Edie Fake’s high-key abstractions are simultaneously figurative and abstract, combining recognizable household objects and dynamic geometries. Aili Schmeltz’s thread-based paintings are monochromatic, abstract patterns of vibrating intensity that serve as analogs for lives shaped by gender issues. The “Experiments in Transformation” exhibit is from April 2 to May 1.
The opening reception is Saturday, April 2, from 2 to 5 p.m. and continues Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. and by appointment.
BoxoProjects is located at 62732 Sullivan Road, Joshua Tree, CA 92252. Highway 62 to White Feather, south on White Feather to Sullivan, west on Sullivan).
