Today is your last chance to see the current exhibit, “Framed: Step into Art.” This interactive and educational experience has been well received by children and adults alike. The Hi-Desert Nature Museum will close Thursday, September 29, for annual maintenance and reopen Friday, September 30, with a new exhibit “Joshua Tree National Park: The Science Laboratory in Your Backyard,” celebrating the National Park’s centennial. The exhibit’s opening reception begins at 5 p.m. September 30. At 7 p.m. keynote speaker Michael Newland from Sonoma State University will introduce the archaeology in Joshua Tree National Park. The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 to 5. Admission is free.
