The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning from 11 a.m. this morning to 9 p.m. this evening. Expect near record-breaking high temperatures today. Highs are expected to be 110 to 113 in Twentynine Palms, 105 to 108 around Yucca Valley. Cooling centers will be open at area community centers, senior centers, and other public air-conditioned facilities.
