EVERY MAN CHALLENGE TODAY, KING BATTLE TOMORROW, AT KING OF THE HAMMERS

More than 45,000 visitors have packed the Johnson Valley off-road vehicle area for this year’s King of the Hammers competition. Today, it’s the Every Man Challenge at King of the Hammers today (Thursday, February 8, 2019). The EMC contains three classes. The 4500 class, The 4600 class, and the 4800 class, also known as the Legends class. The Legends class is the second-fastest growing class at King of the Hammers, second only to the UTV, with close competition at every race. Each class has specific rules to ensure a level playing field, which makes the EMC a true drivers’ race.
Tomorrow (Friday, Febraury 9) is the big day at King of the Hammers, when competitors battle it out to be named King. The best bet for spectators to follow the action is at Backdoor, Chocolate Thunder, or the new spectator area at Cougar Buttes. If you’d rather watch from the comfort of your camp chair, Hammertown will have a Jumbotron with live cameras and announcers calling all the action. Teams also pit in Hammertown and carve their way through the short infield course. Four racers have won King of the Hammers in the past eight years, demonstrating that it takes a lot more than luck to be crowned King.
