ENJOY THE OUTDOORS, DAY OR NIGHT

FEE FREE DAYS AT JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK THIS WEEKEND

Free admission, warmer weather, longer days, and fewer crowds make this day a great time to visit a national park. To celebrate Presidents’ Day weekend, Joshua Tree National Park is waiving entrance fees Saturday, February 14, through Monday, February 16. Managing editor Tami Roleff urges area residents to take advantage of the fee-free days…

This is a great time to hike Joshua Tree National Park all over the country. Visitors to the park are reminded that the weather in February can be unpredictable and temperatures may fluctuate.  When hiking or walking, always carry plenty of water (1 gallon per person per day), use sunscreen, wear a hat, and layer clothing to accommodate the changes in weather. Campers and picnickers are reminded to bring water as most park campgrounds and picnic areas do not have water available. Potable water is available at park visitor centers and at Black Rock and Cottonwood Campgrounds as well as the Indian Cove Ranger Station. Fees for activities such as camping, reservations, or tours will still be collected as normal.  Reporting for Z107.7, this is managing editor Tami Roleff.
