Yucca Valley firefighters were called out in the early morning hours for a vehicle fire. About 12:40 a.m., a Mercedes SUV experienced mechanical problems and the engine caught on fire near Valley View and Navajo Trail in Yucca Valley. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the engine compartment. The driver managed to get out of the vehicle safely and there were no injuries.
