Elks National Runs Most Valuable Student Scholarship

Applications for the 2023 Elks National Foundation (ENF) Most Valuable Student (MVS) Contest are now open. The application deadline is November 14, 2022.

The Elks National Foundation (ENF) awards 500 four-year scholarships based on academics, leadership, and financial need. National awards range from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year. The national awards will be announced in April 2023.

Yucca Valley Elk’s Lodge #2314 will award over $2500 in scholarships to the Class of 2023, so Yucca Valley applicants should choose Yucca Valley Elk’s Lodge #2314 as their sponsoring Lodge when completing the
application.

MVS scholarships are for students pursuing a degree on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), at a U.S. college or university including Copper Mountain College next school year. Current high school seniors (or equivalent) who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply. Applicants do not have to be related to a member of the Elks.

Gabriel Hart is an author and journalist from Morongo Valley, CA. He was a finalist for the 2024 Golden Mic Awards for his continuous reporting on the Morongo Valley Community Services District. His punk-noir novel On High at Red Tide is out now from Pig Roast Publishing, and he's the editor-in-chief/publisher of Beyond the Last Estate, a print-only magazine featuring "creative reporting on contemporary literature."
