Election 2024 Updates: State Assembly District 4, MVCSD

State Assembly District 4 continues to be a close contest. The District encompasses Yucca Valley and the majority of the western portion of our community as well as Palm Springs. Challenger Christy Holstege’s lead against incumbent Greg Wallis is closing. Holstege, a Democrat, as of this morning has 50.1% of the vote, while Wallis, a Republican, has 49.9% of the vote. As of this morning, Holstege is leading Wallis by 283 votes.

The race to represent three open seats on the Morongo Valley Community Services District Board of Directors has only tightened since yesterday. Four candidates ran for three open seats. Incumbent Johnny Tolbert Jr. maintains his significant lead, likely securing his seat on the board.

A close race among the remaining three candidates to fill open seats has shifted over the weekend. Leading as of this morning is challenger Eva Marie Rowles with 441, followed by incumbent Steven James Hayden with 426 votes, followed by incumbent Lynn Watts with 421 votes, 

Final results will be certified on December 13.
