UPDATED 6 p.m. Friday
A mobile home in Morongo Valley is a complete loss from a fire Friday afternoon. Morongo Valley Fire Assistant Division Chief Bob Springer said firefighters from Morongo Valley, Calfire, and San Bernardino County were called to the Valley View Mobile Home Park in the 10800 block of West Drive about 2:15 p.m. The double-wide home was fully engulfed with flames when they arrived. The elderly woman who lived at the home was able to get out safely; however, her two small dogs and cat have not been located yet and it’s not known if they survived. Through aggressive action, firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent mobile homes; however, some personal vehicles suffered minor damage from the blaze.  Springer said the fire was knocked down in about 42 minutes. The cause is under investigation.
