ELDERLY MAN TAKES SCOOTER FROM YUCCA VALLEY STATER BROTHERS STORE

An elderly man who went joyriding last month on an electric scooter from a Yucca Valley grocery store is wanted by the Sheriff’s Department. On August 27, the man entered the “new” Stater Brothers on the east end of town, got in an electric scooter, and used it as he shopped inside the store for a beverage and snacks. After purchasing the items, the man left the store driving the scooter. He has not returned the scooter to Stater Brothers. The suspect is described as white, about 80 years old, with thinning white or blond hair, and wearing dark sunglasses. Anyone with information about the man should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
