As the state continues to experience a year-round fire season, Southern California Edison wants to make sure communities are informed and prepared as SCE implements its Wildfire Mitigation Plan. Managing editor Tami Roleff says Edison is holding a meeting tonight in Yucca Valley…
California utility companies are blamed for more than 2,000 fires in the state during the last three years. Southern California Edison will host a community meeting tonight, to inform residents what it plans to do to reduce the risk of fires caused by electrical equipment. The meeting is set for tonight, June 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the multi-purpose room at the Yucca Valley High School, 7600 Sage Ave. Attendees will learn more about the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) protocol, hear from emergency preparedness experts and have an opportunity to update their contact information so Edison can inform customers about outages and other important emergency notifications.
