Many residents in Yucca Valley, Yucca Mesa, and Pioneertown received alerts from Southern California Edison Monday afternoon that the power company may shut off their electricity today due to potentially dangerous weather conditions in fire-prone areas. A combination of high temperatures, low humidity, and strong winds could develop into critical fire weather conditions. A total of 25,000 SCE customers in San Bernardino County could be affected by the Public Safety Power Shutoff, including the northern parts of Yucca Valley, Yucca Mesa, Pioneertown, and Rimrock areas.
