Easter holiday events are planned all over our Morongo Basin over the weekend. The Town of Yucca Valley will present its annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday at the Yucca Valley Community Center softball field. The free egg hunt is open to children ages 2 to 7, with three separate hunting areas for children based on ages. The egg hunt begins promptly at 9 a.m., but all are encouraged to come early and bring a camera to take photographs with the Easter Bunny. Easter egg hunters can also win a jar of jelly beans at the “Guess How Many Jelly Beans” contests.
The Twentynine Palms Fire Department and Fire Explorers will host an Easter egg hunt Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Little League fields in Luckie Park. It is open to children through age seven. Children will be placed in two age groups, walking to 3 years old and 4 to 7 years old. The kids will have the opportunity to gather hundreds of prize-filled plastic eggs. Fire engines will be on display with firefighters and fire explorers available to answer questions about the fire department and fire safety.
The Joshua Tree Community Center will hold its 46th annual egg hunt Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. sharp. The egg hunt areas will be divided by age group: toddlers to two years old; three and four years old; kindergarten; first and second grades; third and fourth grades; and fifth and sixth grades. Special prize eggs will be hidden among the other eggs. The Easter bunny will be available after the egg hunt for photos. For more information, call the community center at 760-366-8415.
