EarthFest Joshua Tree is a family and earth-friendly day celebrating kids, animals and the planet. The free event takes place 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 15, in the courtyard at Art Queen at 61855 Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree. The day’s activities include a Mutt Strut, where children can introduce their dogs on the stage at Art Queen; and a Green Carpet walk, in which children can take the stage and show off their animal and nature themed clothing. A National Park ranger will give a presentation on protecting desert tortoises. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for both people and pets, and a there will be a recycling station for plastic. For more information visit: www.mojaveanimalprotection.org
