Election Day is still four weeks away, but San Bernardino County voters began showing up to vote yesterday (Monday, October 5) at the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters office in San Bernardino.
Early voting sites opened Monday and vote-by-mail ballots will be arriving in voters’ mailboxes over the next few days.
In addition to early voting, options to beat the election day crowds include mailing in or dropping off ballots. According to the California Secretary of State’s Office, since 2012, more than half of all votes in a general election have been cast by mail.
Vote-by-mail ballots began going out Monday; those voting early will also have their votes counted early.
“Those will be the first results you see after 8 p.m.” when polls close on Election Day said a spokesman.
Ballots can also be cast from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. October 26 through October 30 at Yucca Valley Town Hall, Twentynine Palms City Hall, and the Joshua Tree library.
